The itinerary:

Day 1. Arrival at the airport - transfer to Bucharest. Accommodation Hotel Capitol / Ambasador 4* -20 km

Arrival at Bucharest airport and meeting with the accompanying guide for the whole tour. We transfer you to the hotel with the possibility of taking a panoramic or even pedestrian tour, depending on the flight’s schedule.


Day 2. Bucharest - Curtea de Arges - Cozia - Olt Valley - Sibiu - Sibiel. Accommodation at Casa Ana Ciortea 3 * - 280 km

After the breakfast, departure for Curtea de Arges city to visit the famous 15th century Orthodox cathedral included in the UNESCO heritage. It was erected by the holy prince Neagoe Basarab in the Byzantine style, with 2 spiral towers that symbolize the open arms for prayer. We continue the tour visiting the monastery of Cozia where you will find the tomb of Vlad the Impaler’s grandfather, Mircea the Elder. We cross the Olt Valley to arrive in Sibiu, where we will visit the main attractions of the city: the Large Square, the Bridge of Lies, the Council Tower, the Brukenthal Palace, the Huet Square. In the evening, we arrive in a beautiful village: Sibiel, where we take a typical dinner with folklore show (optional), overnight.

 

Day 3. Sibiu - Alba Iulia - Cheile Turzii or Salina Turda - Cluj Napoca. Accommodation Hotel Capitolina 3* -175 km


         This day we travel to Alba Iulia city, famous for the extraordinary architectural and cultural heritage that accompanies it from the time of the dominion of Rome through the Middle Ages and up to the construction of the eighteenth-century fortress that can still be seen today. Here Prince Michael the Bravess (Mihai Viteazul) made the first unification of the historical regions of Wallachia, Transylvania and Moldova (creating the idea of ​​Romania for the first time) in 1600 and also the unification of Greater Romania was celebrated in the 1918 here. Then, we continue with the visit of Turda salt mine, one of the most beautiful mines in Europe. Alternativel ywe can visit the "Cheile Turzii" Nature Reserve (The Turda Gorges). Then, we arrive in Cluj, the ancient capital of Transylvania and the largest city in the region where we can see Union Square, a 15th century church named St. Michael, the Theater, the National Opera, etc.


Day 4. Cluj - Colibita - Bistrita. Accommodation in Hotel Ozana 4 * or similar - 120 km

We leave Cluj city and continue the trip to Colibita. Among the sites connected to the myth of Dracula is the city of Bistrita, in the northern part of Transylvania, where the writer Bram Stroker spent the night with the protagonist of the novel Jonathan Harker before continuing his journey to Dracula's castle. We arrive at Colibita lake in the afternoon. It is known for its length and beauty. Then, we visit the city of Bistrita. In the evening we take dinner and overnight.

Day 5. Bistrita - Targu-Mures - Biertan - Sighisoara. Accommodation in Hotel Binderbubi / Korona 4 * -160 km

Targu-Mures city is a small jewel that shows traces of a difficult past and has greatly influenced its evolution. Perhaps the most striking place is the citadel built at the beginning of the 18th century with 900 m long brick wall protected by seven bastions about 10 m high which bear the names of the ancient guilds. We arrive at the fortress of Biertan, part of the UNESCO world heritage, with the fortified church of Biertan which is a true jewel of Saxon architecture. Three walls of the city surround the Protestant church which stands on top of a hill. Interesting is the marriage prison: here, the spouses who wished to separate were kept in the same cell and kept in bread and water, until reconciliation. The door to the sacristy is beautifully carved and has a special lock. We leave the city to go to Sighisoara, known as "The pearl of Transylvania". A window on medieval life, a romantic place with narrow streets and charming houses: all this makes Sighisoara a city rich in culture and history. You can see the Clock Tower, the home of the famous Vlad the Impaler named Dracula and the stairs leading to the lookout point.

Day 6. Sighisoara - Viscri - Bran - Brasov. Accommodation Hotel Coroana Brasovului / Wagner 3* 120 km

After breakfast, we travel to Brasov, one of the most beautiful multicultural cities in our country, located in Transylvania. You can see the Black Church, Black and White Tower and the ancient area of ​​the city called Schei, where romanians lived from ancient times. We take a break in Viscri, a Saxon village included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, which appears on the world map of traditional villages. This Saxon island was formed in the 12th century, when they were brought here by order of the king of Hungary to defend Transylvania from the invaders. Prince Charles of England is promoting this region nowadays. The long awaited attraction of the day, Bran Castle,will be visited in the afternoon. In the evening we arrive in Brasov.

Day 7. Brasov - Rasnov or Prejmer Fortress - Sinaia - Snagov Monastery – Bucharest. Accommodation 4* -190 km

After the breakfast we go to Rasnov fortress, the most famous and one of the best preserved fortresses in Transylvania, built to defend and control the trade route that connects the regions of Transylvania and Wallachia. Here we can admire a beautiful panorama with the surroundings of Rasnov and Brasov. Alternatively we can visit the Prejmer Fortress, founded by the Order of the Teutonic Knights and included in the UNESCO World Heritage. The tour continues with a visit to the Peles Castle, Sinaia monastey and the Snagov Monastery. Vlad the Impaler (the son of Vlad Dracul) is believed to have been buried here. There is the largest medieval mural painting preserved in a Romanian church, made in the 16th century.

Day 8. Free time and transfer to Otopeni airport -20 km

Free time for shopping or possibility to visit the Village Museum, located in Herastrau Park, one of the largest parks in Europe. Restored country houses, large barns and functioning water mills fill the narrow paths. The museum illustrates how Romania looked a few hundred years ago and, also, how looks nowadays in some historical regions such as Maramures or Bucovina. Alternatively, you can enjoy a visit to Bucharest's Therme, near Otopeni. Transfer to the airport for the return flight to your country. We are waiting for you to return in our country.
