DAY 1: BUCHAREST
Arrival at Bucharest airport and meeting with the accompanying guide throughout the tour. According to the flight, time dedicated to the discovery of the Romanian capital, called "The Paris of the East", admiring its wide avenues, the glorious buildings "Bell 'Epoque", the Arc de Triomphe, the Romanian Athenaeum, the Square of the Revolution, the University Square, the "Curtea Domneasca" and visiting the Village Museum, the "Patriarchy" (spiritual center of the Romanian Orthodox Church) and the Parliament Building, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon of Washington.
Welcome dinner in a typical restaurant and accommodation 4 * Capitol or Ambasador or similar.
DAY 2: BUCHAREST - CURTEA DE ARGES - SIBIU - SIBIEL (270 KM)
After breakfast at the hotel, departure for Sibiu. Stop in Cozia to visit the Cozia Monastery, from the 14th century. Known as one of the oldest historical and art complexes in Romania, the Cozia Monastery is located on the right bank of the Olt river. The elements of Byzantine architectural style are explicitly declared by the facades of the central church, in alternate bands of brick and large blocks of stone. Continuation to Sibiu, Europe's Capital of Culture in 2007. Lunch in a restaurant. Guided tour of the historic center of the city of Sibiu, the European capital, known at the time for its fortification system considered the largest in Transylvania with over 7 km of walls, of which important vestiges are still preserved. You can admire the Piazza Grande with the peculiarity of the city: the roofs with "the eyes that follow you", the Little Square with the Bridge of Lies and the imposing evangelical church in Gothic style of the fourteenth century, which preserves a particular fresco that represents Jesus in 7 different images. The church is also known for its organ, considered the largest in Romania, with 10,000 canes. Typical dinner in the region, in Sibiel, near the farmers, with typical menu and drinks included. 3rd DAY: SIBIU - SIGHISOARA - TARGU MURES / BISTRITA (230 KM)
After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Sighisoara. Stop in Biertan, a village founded by Saxon colonists in the 12th century and which was an important Lutheran market and bishopric throughout the 16th century until the last century. Visit of the fortified church of Biertan, built at the highest point of the village, in the XIV century, like a gothic style basilica, surrounding it shortly after a wall. Today the church is part of the UNESCO Heritage. Lunch in a restaurant on the way, arrival in Sighisoara, birthplace of the famous Vlad the Impaler, known to all as Count Dracula. Guided tour of the most beautiful and best preserved medieval citadel of Romania; the city is part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
Mostly dates back to the 16th century XIV, when the construction was hastily erected and strengthened after the Tatar destruction in 1241. Nine of the fourteen original towers are preserved: the tower of the blacksmiths, the tower of the shoemakers, the tower of the butchers, the tower of the tailors, the tower of those of the pellai, of the coppers , etc. The most beautiful and well-known monument of the city is the Clock Tower which was built in the 13th-14th centuries and until 1556 was the seat of the City Council. Road to get to Bistrita. Short panoramic tour of the town of Targu Mures, renowned for its squares surrounded by beautiful buildings from the Secession era, including the most majestic: the Prefecture and the Palace of Culture. Arrival in Bistrita. Dinner and overnight at the 3 * or 4 * hotel in Bistrita.
4th DAY: BISTRITA - MONASTERIES OF BUCOVINA - GURA HUMORULUI OR RADAUTI (200 or 250 KM)
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Bucovina, crossing the Tihuta Pass. Whole afternoon dedicated to the guided tour of the Bucovina Monasteries, registered in the UNESCO world heritage. It will start from the important Voroneţ Monastery of 1488 and considered the jewel of Bucovina for the famous cycle of external frescoes that decorate the church, the most famous of which is "the Last Judgment". Lunch in a restaurant on the way. In the afternoon visit of the Monastery of Moldoviţa of 1532, surrounded by fortifications and externally frescoed followed by the visit of the Suceviţa monastery (1582-84) renowned for the important fresco "The Scale of Virtues" and for its imposing walls. Stop in Marginea, a village known for the archaeological finds of black pottery dating back to the Bronze Age, now reproduced by hand in a local laboratory. DAY 5: BUCOVINA - AGAPIA - PIATRA NEAMT (235 KM)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Piatra Neamt. Continue towards the monastic village of Agapia, where you will visit the Church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel from the 17th century. Lunch. Transfer to Piatra Neamt. Registration and dinner in a 3 or 4 star hotel.
Passage of the Carpati chain, crossing the Bicaz Gorges, the most famous canon of the country, 10 km long, formed by 300-400 m high Mesozoic limestone rocks, passing beside the Red Lake, a lake originated from the natural barrier for the unevenness of a mount, in 1837; from the water emerge the petrified trunks of the pines. Lunch in a restaurant along the route (optional). In the afternoon we will reach the city of Miercurea Ciuc, crossing the heart of Transylvania. In the evening a medieval surprise in the Miko fortress of Miercurea Ciuc. Visit the Miko fortress which will open its doors with music and wine tasting, giving the opportunity to experience the true medieval charm of the Szekleri village. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 6: PIATRA NEAMT - THE GORGES OF BICAZ - BRASOV (280 KM)
After breakfast at the hotel, departure for Brasov. Enjoy a scenic ride through the Vltava countryside and then along the Bicaz Gorges with its spectacular path among the rocks. Take a short stop at the Red Lake, a very picturesque natural barrier lake.
Once in Brasov, visit one of the most fascinating medieval towns in Romania, during which you can admire the Schei district with the Sfantul Nicolae church, the first Romanian school (XV century), the Biserica Neagrã (black church), the largest Gothic church in Romania and the ancient fortifications of the city with guild bastions. Dinner in a typical restaurant / hotel and overnight at a 3 or 4-star hotel.
DAY 7: BRASOV - BRAN - SINAIA - BUCHAREST (200 KM)
After breakfast at the hotel, visit Bran Castle, known as Dracula's Castle, one of the most picturesque in Romania, built in the 13th century by the Teutonic knight Dietrich and restored in later times. Departure to Sinaia, called the Pearl of the Carpathians, the most famous mountain resort in Romania. Visit of Peles Castle, summer residence of King Charles I, where you can admire numerous statues, balustrades, vases, fountains, niches and mosaics.
Dinner and overnight stay in a 4-star hotel.
DAY 8: BUCHAREST (20KM)
Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic tour of the Romanian capital with the Revolution Square and the University Square. Lunch and free. Time available for shopping. Transfer to the airport for the return flight to Italy and end of our services.
