Day 1. Bucharest - Sinaia - Bran - Brasov. Accommodation 3/4 star city center -200 km
After breakfast, departure for Sinaia, a town famous in Romania for its natural and tourist beauties. The Castle of Peles, summer residence of the royal families of Carol I, Ferdinand, Carol II and Michele is one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. It was built on the order of Carol I, particular thanks to the architectural style that combines various elements known in the world: gothic, baroque, traditional Romanian, art nouveau and others, so the castle could be considered a lezzione in the history of art.
Continue to the monastery of Sinaia which has existed since the end of the seventeenth century, being in the forests of the Carpathian mountains. The Romanian-style construction "brancovenesc" was made by the Mihail Cantacuzino in 1695.
Arrival at the famous Bran Castle, known as Dracula's Castle, after Bram Stocker created the legend of Count Dracula. In reality the castle was built by the Saxons as a guard post to defend and control the trade route that connected the Transylvanian and Valachian regions in the Middle AgesThe term Bran means "border". The place is linked to the legendary prince Vlad the Impaler who fought a series of fights in the area during the fifteenth century. In our country the castle is known as the summer residence for Queen Maria who came here often, far from court life in Bucharest.
The tour continues and we arrive in Brasov in the afternoon, one of the most 'beautiful multicultural city of our country, located in Transylvania. You can see the Council Square, the Council Tower, the Black Church, Torre Ecaterina, the Black and White Tower and the ancient area of the city called Schei, where the Romanians lived from long ago. Free dinner and overnight.
Day 2. Brasov - The Dambovita Valley - Exploring the virgin forests of the Carpathian mountains - Brasov. Accomodation Hotel city center -70 km
Romania is a privileged country, where there is the second largest population of large carnivores in Europe that is concentrated in the Carpathian mountains and the forests are home to many other species of mammals and birds.
Fagaras Mountains also known as the Transylvanian Alps belong to the Southern Carpathians covering an area of about 3,000 square kilometers. Orientated East-West, their length is about 70 km, from north to south the width of the range is over 40 km.The highest peak of both Fagaras and Romania mountains is called Moldoveanu and rises to 2544 m in the eastern part of Făgăraş.
The destination area is located in the eastern part of the mountain range, in the Upper Dâmboviţa Valley, upstream of the Tămaşul stream. The Fagaras mountains are rich in biodiversity and, according to a recent study, live here 57 species of mammals in which three large carnivores: the brown bear, the wolf and the lynx. Other species that can be seen are: chamois, deer, roe deer, wild cat, wild boar, fox and otter.The altitude of the project area is between 900 meters and up to 2400 m on the Iezer peaks - Papusa and the Fagaras mountains.
You can visit a cave that houses five species of bats, sections of virgin forest, sites in recovery of areas affected by deforestation or you can search for traces and places frequented by different species of animals. The observation can be done in 3 observatories specially built for this purpose.
The exploration is done with specialists who have licenses of mountain guides or biologists, specialists in protected areas, hunting technicians, etc. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3. Brasov - Viscri - Sighisoara - Brasov. Accomodation Hotel city center - 200 km
After breakfast, departure for Sighisoara known as "La Perla della Transilvania". A window onto medieval life, a romantic place with narrow streets and charming houses - all of these make Sighisoara a city rich in culture and history. You can see the Clock Tower, the house of the famous Vlad the Impaler called Dracula, in about 1431 and the stairs leading to the viewpoint.
In the evening return to Brasov, dinner and overnight.
Day 4. Brasov - Zarnesti Bear Reserve - Rasnov Fortress - Bucharest or Otopeni Airport
After breakfast, visit the Protected Reserve of Zarnesti where more than 100 bears are monitored to protect them.
Arrival at the Rasnov Fortress, the most famous and one of the best preserved Saxon fortresses from Transylvania, built to defend and control the trade route that connected the Transylvanian and Valachian regions. From here you can admire a beautiful panorama with the surroundings of Rasnov and Brasov. Alternatively you can visit the Prejmer Fortress, founded by the Order of Teutonic Knights and included in the UNESCO World Heritage.
The tour continues with the visit of the Snagov Monastery. Here it is believed that Vlad the Impaler (the son of Vlad Dracul) was buried. The monastery was built strategically in the middle of Lake Snagov, on the island of the same name. Inside is the largest medieval wall painting in a Romanian church, built in the 16th century.
