6 days to go hiking in the Carpathian mountains


Day 1. Arrival Otopeni Airport from Italy according to time. Overnight stay 3/4 star city center Bucharest. -20 km

  Transfer to Bucharest in hotel and panoramic tour of the city. You can see the following tourist attractions: the Triomfo Arch, Calea Victoriei, Piazza della Rivoluzzione, University Square, the Romanian Athenaeum, the Royal Palace, the Central University Library, the former Communist Central Committee, etc. Depending on the time you take a guided tour of the historic center. Dinner and overnight in Bucharest.

Day 2. Bucharest - Curtea de Arges - Poenari Fortress - Transfagarasan - Lake Vidraru - Lake Balea. Accommodation Balea.

   Departure for the town of Curtea de Arges, with an ancient history that continues to live thanks to its buildings of the fourteenth century.In addition to the visit of the Monastery of Curtea de Arges built to the order of the Holy Prince Neagoe Basarab, it certainly deserves a visit to the Princely Church of St. Nicholas, decorated with beautiful frescoes of 1350. The monastery, however, is famous above all for its legend, built in Byzantine style between 1512 and 1517 and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.Surmounted by two spiral towers and a dome, the central body of the monastery is flanked by a second block surmounted in turn by a dome, higher and wider than the central one.Then you arrive in the beautiful area of ​​the Carpathians, where you can admire the Poenari Fortress, built by Prince Vlad the Impaler to defend the area, then cross the mountains taking the Transfagarasan road, one of the most beautiful in the world.  Dinner and overnight, near the glacial lake Balea.

Day 3. Excursion in the Fagaras, the most beautiful and tallest mountain in the Carpathians. The top of the mountain is called Moldoveanu. You see beautiful places and return to retirement in the evening.

Day 4. Excursion in the Fagaras, seeing other beautiful places at an altitude of about 2500 m.

Day 5. Fagaras - Sinaia - visit to the Peles Castle or Bran Castle (known as Dracula's Castle) - Cable car - Babel and the Sphinx. Overnight Pension Babele or in tent, according to your preferences. You can take accommodation 3 * or 4 * in the town of Busteni.

After breakfast, departure for Sinaia, a town famous in Romania for its natural and tourist beauties. The Castle of Peles, summer residence of the royal families of Carol I, Ferdinand, Carol II and Michele is one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. It was built on the order of Carol I, particular thanks to the architectural style that combines various elements known in the world: gothic, baroque, traditional Romanian, art nouveau and others, so the castle could be considered a lezzione in the history of art.Continue to the monastery of Sinaia which has existed since the end of the seventeenth century, being in the forests of the Carpathian mountains. The Romanian-style construction "brancovenesc" was made by the Mihail Cantacuzino in 1695. Arrival to the natural formations Babele and the Sphinx formed in a thousand years, considered miracles of nature.  Dinner and overnight. 

Day 6. Excursion in the Bucegi mountains - you get to the peak Omu ', the highest in the area, 2 505 m and then descend to the tourist resort Busteni. In total, about 9 hours.

Day 7. Return to Bucharest
