The itinerary

Day 1. Otopeni Airport - Bucharest. Accommodation 4* Hotel Capitol / Ambasador - 16 km

Transfer and panoramic tour of the city called "Paris of the East", according to the flight. The avenues with the buildings of the Belle Epoque, the Arch of Triumph, the Romanian Athenaeum, Revolution Square, Royal Palace, University Square and the Princely Old Court. Depending on the flight, you can also see the Palace of Parliament (external), the Patriarchal Cathedral and you can take a pedestrian tour of the old town. Welcome dinner with folklore show.

Day 2. Bucharest - Curtea de Arges - Ramnicu Valcea. Accommodation at Grand Sofianu 4* hotel - 170 km

We take the breakfast at the hotel, then we go to Curtea de Arges to visit the Monastery declared Unesco heritage. Built in 1512 it is surmounted by two spiral towers and a dome and its construction is linked to one famous legend, the legend of Manole. Then, we visit the Royal Cathedral, dedicated to the Romanian royal family. After, we arrive in Râmnicu Valcea city which is famous for the traditions of popular costumes and for the subcarpatic landscape.

Day 3. Ramnicu Valcea - Cozia Monastery - Valea Oltului (river) – ASTRA open air Folklore Museum (optional) - Sibiu - Sibiel. Accommodation Casa Ana Ciortea 3 * - 100 km

We continue the tour, arriving at Cozia Monastery, enjoying a beautiful view of the river and of the Carpathian mountains. Alternatively, between July to October we can go through the Transfagarasan road. In the afternoon optional visit of the Traditional Astra Museum (it is the largest open-air ethnographic museum in Romania). Situated in a shady park, it boasts about 350 buildings, perfectly rebuilt in style,illustrating the technical heritage of the country. We walk through the windmills and water mills, the workshops, the forges and the houses ofcraft and finally we arrive in Sibiu, an important cultural center (European cultural capital in 2007) and we will visit the Large Square with the Roman Catholic Baroque church, the Council Tower and the late Baroque Brukenthal Palace, the Small Square, lined with shops and cafés, Huet Square where there are several Gothic buildings and the Evangelical Cathedral. Typical dinner of the region, in Sibiel, by farmers, in the midst of Romanian traditions and overnight. To stay in Sibiu in the city center in a 4 * hotel, a supplement of 15 EUR / person is charged.

Day 4. Sibiel - Alba Iulia – Corvin Castle - Sibiel. Accommodation Casa Ana Ciortea 3 * - 150 km -

After the breafat, we start the day visiting the town of Alba Iulia, famous for its extraordinary artistic and cultural heritage that origins from the times of the dominion of Rome through the Middle Ages and up to the construction of the eighteenth-century fortress that can still be admired today. In this country, Prince Michael the Brave (Mihai Viteazul) made the first unification of the historical regions of Wallachia, Transylvania and Moldova (creating the idea of ​​Romania for the first time) in 1600 and the Great Union of Romanian Principalities was also made here in 1918. You will see the medieval fortress, the Orthodox Cathedral and the Catholic Cathedral where Matheus Corvin, king of Hungary, is buried. In the afternoon we visit the Corvin’s Castle, one of the most famous and well-preserved in the country. Return to Sibiel.

Day 5. Sibiu - Sighisoara - Viscri - Brasov. Accommodation 3* Hotel Coroana Brasovului or Wagner - 190 km

This day we visit Sighisoara, the Pearl of Transylvania, which is a city included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The home of Vlad the Impaler, the Clock Tower, the Evangelical Church on the Hill, the famous wooden covered staircase are important attractions. We visit the Viscri village and then we to Brasov where we enjoy a walk in this pretty Transylvanian city: the Black Church, the Council Square, the old Schei district, the surrounding walls.

Day 6. Brasov - Bran Castle - Râșnov Fortress - Brașov. Accommodation 3 * Hotel Coroana Brasovului or Wagner - 30 km

We take the breakfast and we leave for Bran Castle, famous as Dracula’s Castle, built in the 13th century by the Teutonic knight Dietrich for defense reasons. In the 15th century, Vlad the Impaler arrived here to begin an incursion into Brasov. From 1920, the Bran Castle became the residence of the rulers of the Kingdom of Romania. Queen Maria of Saxony-Coburg-Gotha, who massively renovated the interiors according to the then Romanian "art and craft" taste, stayed there for a long time. In the afternoon visit of the Râșnov Fortress, which connects the two historical regions of Vallachia and Transylvania. The panoramic point amazes.

Day 7. Brasov - Peles Castle - Sinaia Monastery - Bucharest. Accommodation 4* Hotel Capitol / Ambasador - 170 km

This day we go back to Bucharest, but first we visit the Peles Castle from Sinaia resort, the summer residence of the Romanian kings which became a museum of national and international value. All the exhibits in the museum are original. Then you can admire the two churches of the Sinaia monastery, a work of Byzantine art, the first church being built in 1695 by Mihail Cantacuzino, descendant of the Byzantine emperors.

Day 8. Bucharest - Otopeni airport transfer

We take the breakfast at the hotel and after, depending on the time of departure, you can visit the Village Museum or alternatively you can enjoy the Thermal Park, located near Otopeni. Transfer to the airport.
