Itinerary:

Day 1. Departure to Porumbacu de Sus - Valea Zanelor Clay castle – Sibiel. Accommodation Sibiel Casa Ana Ciortea 3*

After the breakfast, we go to Porumbacu de Sus, where the valley of the fairies is located - the clay castle. We cross the Carpathian mountains passing on the Transfagarasan road, visiting the Vidraru lake, Balea lake and admiring the beautiful landscapes from 2000 m altitude. Only at 35 km from Sibiu, in Porumbacu de Sus, in the valley of the fairies, we find a clay castle, worthy of the stories of the Grimm brothers. The castle is structured on two levels, ground and attic, and it has 10 rooms, each with its own rustic design and 2 towers. It was built only with natural materials (stone and cement, wood, lime and clay) by craftsmen from Maramures, the region of northern Romania. The plaster of the castle is based on hydraulic lime, with calcifying, limestone properties with which the Romans built the fortresses. The valley of the fairies is the place where, for several hours, you can breathe fresh air and enter a fairy-tale world with fairies and princesses. Inside the castle there is also a souvenir shop with personalized gifts, fridge magnets, sweet ginger, hot chocolate and apple juice that can be enjoyed in specially set up places. The fairy tale boxes wait for every tourist to make a wish. In the afternoon, we visit Sibiu, one of the largest cities in the country, famous for its urban architecture reminiscent of German or Austrian urban centers. We visit the Big Square, the  Huet Square, the Bridge of Lies and the Bruckental Palace. The tour continues with Sibiel, a mountain tourist village where we take the dinner and stay overnight. In some cases, you can stay in Sibiu in 4* hotel, paying a supplement of EUR 15 per person, according to preferences.

Day 2. Sibiel / Sibiu - Olt Valley - Cozia - Curtea de Arges - Bucharest

This day we discover the Olt River Valley (the longest quarter in the country) and the Cozia Monastery built by Prince Mircea the Elder, grandfather of Vlad the Impaler Tepes. Then, we go to Curtea de Arges, famous for its innovative architecture of the sixteenth century and for its legend of the master Manole. The monastery is declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
