5 days in Transylvania with UNESCO heritage

Itinerary:

Day 1. Arrival at Otopeni Airport. Accommodation Hotel Capitol / Ambasador 4* -20 km

Transfer to the hotel in Bucharest and panoramic city tour, based on the flight. We see: the Arch of Triumph, Calea Victoriei, Revolution Square, University Square, the Romanian Athenaeum, Royal Palace, Central University Library, the former Communist Central Committee, etc. Depending on the flight schedule, we can do a pedestrian tour to the historical center visiting inside the Atheneum and 2/3 Orthodox churches.

Day 2. Bucharest - Curtea de Arges - Cozia - Olt River Valley - Sibiu - Sibiel. Accommodation House Ana Ciortea 3 * -280 km

In this day we leave Bucharest and go to Curtea de Arges, with historical buildings of the fourteenth century recalls the ancient capital of Wallachia, before becoming Bucharest the capital. The Curtea de Arges Monastery was erected for the order of the Holy Prince Neagoe Basarab and now is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here yo will hear the legend of the master Manole and his wife Ana, then we leave for visiting the Cozia Monastery, located on the Olt Valley, where Mircea the Elder, grandfather of Vlad The Impaler (known as Dracula) is buried. We arrive in the afternoon in Sibiu, a Transylvanian city reminiscent of Saxon buildings in Germany or Austria. We show you the Bruckenthal Palace, built in Baroque style, the Bridge of Lies, the Orthodox Christian Cathedral, the Evangelical Cathedral, the Council Tower, etc. To stay in Sibiu in the center of the city in a 4* hotel, a supplement of 15 EUR / person is charged

Day 3. Sibiu - Folklore Museum in open air ASTRA - Biertan Fortress - Sighisoara. Accommodation Hotel Binderbubi or Korona 4* - 120 km -

After taking the breakfast, the first stop is at the ASTRA Folklore Museum, an unforgettable outdoor space. Then we arrive at the Biertan Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a true jewel of Saxon architecture. Interesting is the matrimonial prison: here the spouses who wanted to separate were kept in the same cell and held with bread and water, until the reconciliation. We continue the trip with Sighisoara, known as "The pearl of Transylvania" where we can see the Clock Tower, the home of the famous Vlad the Impaler and others intersting attractions.

Day 4. Sighisoara - Viscri - Bran - Brasov. Accommodation Hotel Coroana Brasovului/Wagner 3* - 170 km -

The day begins with a visit to the preserved Saxon village of Viscri or Weissekhirche (in english "the white church") included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. It continues to the famous Bran Castle, known as Dracula Castle; The term 'bran' means "border", in the old Dacian language, our ancestors. Here, the Prince Vlad established the military base during an incursion into Brasov. The tour continues and we arrive in Brasov, one of the most beautiful multicultural cities of Transylvania. We can see the Council Hall, the Council Tower, the Black Church, the Caterine’s Tower, the White Tower, the Black Tower and the ancient area of ​​the city called Schei, where romanians lived from the ancient times.

Day 5. Brasov - Rasnov or Prejmer Fortress - Sinaia - Snagov Monastery (optional) - Bucharest -150 km

After breakfast, we arrive at the Prejmer fortress founded by the Order of the Teutonic Knights and included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and then we visit the best preserved Transylvanian citadel, the fortress of Rasnov. After, we go to visit Peles Castle and Sinaia Monastery, symbols of Romanian culture. Eventually, based on the weather, we can visit the Snagov monastery, located on the island with the same name. In the nave, opposite the altar, there is the tomb of Vlad The Impaler. In the evening, we arrive at Bucharest airport.
